I have depression, anxiety, self injury problems. Is there anybody with similar problems that I can talk with. I mean just as friends who can relate. I don't want therapists, counselors or anything like that. I already have those. I've been in therapy and am on meds. I have a psychatrist. I just want people I can talk to as friends.

No psychatrists are there to collect the money and give you your prescriptions thats it. I'd rather to talk to people understand what I went through then people who you say have a "good head on their shoulders."

Hi there! I totally empathize with how you feel. I felt similar to that a few years ago...I found the best thing that probably saved my life...Yahoo has groups that are basically message boards for people all over the world...the message boards are divided into every catagory possible...what ever your situation is they have a group for it and the cool thing is if they don't have a group already you can start one...This is totally free! I belong to several groups and have for three years now...it is a nice place to meet people who understand and can empathize with my fustrations, situations and issues. Some groups are not that great but if you find a group with alot of members that should tell you that it is a good group. Alot of the mental health groups will ask you to submit an email just explaining your situation. Good Luck, Feel free to email me any questions you may have...inhishandsiam@yahoo.com. Check it out, I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

GREAT QUESTION! i've been looking for chat rooms or web sites for this very reason. I understand completely. I think talking it out to someone who gives a damn is much better than to someone who keeps looking at their watch. Don't want to post my email here, but would be happy to chat when I have the time. Had thought about starting a web site of my own for this purpose. links to helpful sites, books, exercises, etc. thought for the day. Chatroom that won't allow the bots and porn queen ads and give a boot-the-idiot capability to the members to black list and bump abusers with 5 peer real time or interactive boot-em requests.

Like this.. There are two things I've heard that you can combine into one... If you go to bed with happy thoughts, you will wake up better in the morning, if you go to sleep with bad thoughts, you wake up worse in the morning. Well here is where idea #2 comes into play. Make a diary and simply list 3 good things that happened to you today. Do it right before bed. write as much or as little as you want about the good things. Don't journal anything bad... save that for later. you just want 3 good things, that's all. (well more if you think of them, but 3 was tough for me when I began)

OK, well get started. OH yeah. if you find something like TV that depresses you, eliminate it. (I find that tough)

All I have to say is you are definitely not alone. I was in that zone for eight agonizing years! Medications, shrinks, the whole nine yards. The only thing that saved me is when I got down on my knees and prayed for a way out.I also had to do some footwork because I determined that I was going to die if my life didn't change. So I searched and found all the things, people, attitudes, pitty and negativity that was consuming me and threw them away. Remember no one is more important to you than you.

I've been through depression a few times and so much anxiety over money, jobs, and things in general, that my eating and insomniac habits have led me to high blood pressure and high blood sugar. It's a viscious cycle, I know. The self-injury problems are making things even worse on you. You need to stop hurting yourself so that you can heal up emotionally as well as physically, because that is what you deserve. You can email me at clarkr_81 (at) hotmail.com. (I put it like that so at least the email address scanners won't spam me :) )

I have depression, anger, and self injury problems. But you probably won't like talking to me because I get really crazy at the slightest bad things. It's hard for people to talk to me and be friends with me because I hit people when I am angry...
But if you decide to see then (1-626) 243-3723. Text, not call. It's cheaper because I have texting plan.

What was your diagnosis? If you have one or are diagnosed as being clinically depressed I'm sure there are web site forums where you can share your feelings and emotions with others and maybe there will even be a source in your local area that you can attend meetings and share with one another.
Check with your psychiatrist, that is what he is there for, to help you.

The best thing to do is talk to people who have a good head on their shoulders. I'm sorry, but a bunch of depressed people hanging out together will be anti-theraputic.

Well, I don't exactly have that, but I have OCD, which is anxiety, and depression. I'll talk to you if you want. I take Zoloft for OCD and depression, which really helps.
