Asking meaningless, seemingly attention-seeking questions on Yahoo! Answers, would you forgive them? Or simply pass them off as dumb pranksters?

How do you think we could tell the difference?

Would you rather have wasted your effort on a true idiot, or to have given a sarcastic comment to someone who really needed consoling?

Just curious. A random attention-seeking question popped up in my head, and I had to voice it.

Thanks everyone for their answers!

For some reason I just got very curious. I also have a lot of issues I'm dealing with at the moment that I fear someone might judge me for, and sometimes it's even hard to come out in the open here.
I do try to be sincere, but at times I think people can feel so crazy they just want to start some controversy, and I was curious what people felt about that particular situation.

You'll never be totally wrong if you always try to help people. If you never give anybody a sarcastic comment, you'll never have to worry about insulting someone who doesn't deserve it.

I think you should be careful when answering peoples questions it could make or break them. I have found some sarcasm sometimes makes you think twice and can be benificial on the other hand it can really piss you off too..

I try to believe the question is sincere and answer accordingly. if it helps...great. if not ive at least made the attempt to help. i also feel that a question is not stupid if it is asked sincerely and honestly
