you want to buy name bands for this: pillsbury cresent rolls, hillshire farm lil smokies. unroll cresent rolls, cut the preformed rolls in half equally, roll one lil smokie in the roll starting from the thick end, bake per cresent roll instructions. easy but good! my kids love them or you can even buy the lil cheddar smokies which have just a lil cheese in them.

The best and fastest way to make pigs in a blanket is with common ingredients. I say this because most of the time I make them is spur of the moment and I need something quick that the kids will love. Whatever hotdogs your kids like will do fine; whatever biscuits (refrigerated) you have on hand will work. The cheap kind works fine. Just take a cold uncooked biscuit and roll it out with a glass or rolling pin till it's about 1/3 to 1/4 inch thick. Wrap that dude around the hotdog, leaving the ends of the hotdog hanging out each end. Bake in oven about 10 minutes like you're cooking the biscuits normally. You can also make a little split in the hotdogs and stick some cheese in there, which will melt and make a yummy cheesy pig in a blanket. Oh, and you use a cookie sheet. Like I said, bake like you normally would the canned biscuits you use for the piggies.

Hands down, the best way: Take a good quality (all beef, almost like a sausage with casing) hot dogs, and a cylinder of Pillsbury or generic crescent rolls. Get some slices of American cheese. Make a vertical slice along the length of a hot dog, tuck in the cheese and wrap the rest around the dog. Wrap it in a crescent roll either according to the regular rolling instructions on the package, or unroll the whole piece of dough and take two connected sections and roll the dog, trim the excess. Have fun!

GAGGING at the idea of pigs in a blanket made with a HOT DOG?!?! It is BREAKFAST food! YUCK!
I prefer the lil smokies and pilsbury biscuit version. Yuck at the hotdog idea.
They are supposed to be small and bite sized. I can't imagine eating a huge pig in a blanket.

mine are similar to hers except, I make a slice in the smokey lengthwise and insert cheddar cheese. Then I roll it in the Pillsbury crescent roll dough. Bake with cheese side facing up.
