No. That's why most of the modern law enforcement agencies use a voice stress test instead of the polygraph for screening applicants.

Do NOT believe Polygraph testing. Read all the research by University Professors who do not make a living selling polygraph services. Some professional research states that an innocent person has a 12% change of having an accurate result. All these providers of polygraph testing services will tell and publish that they are 99% accurate. They would as this is their income, they would not say hey it 50% accurate!! I was, shall we say forced, into a test by my wife which I took as I was telling the truth but failed the test. So much research states that its a flip of the coin, 50/50. How you feel, and so many people tell thr truth but fail and other way around. I cannot believe the government allow the private sector to do these tests. I will expect so many marriages have now terminated because of these polygraph testing fraudsters. Again do your research and see how inaccurate they are. By the way if you are made to take the test they will not do it if you have done your research

you mean the lie detector tests? depends on whether the person can trick the polygraph and to do that you must have total control of your mental emotions. if you can control yourself and not think at all just have a clear blank mind and keep calm during all questions then you can trick the polygraph test.

Polygraphs are used to illicit the proper response.

They don't detect lies, they encourage and fool people into thinking they CAN detect lies, and this causes people to tell the truth.

And this means to give "the proper response."

No. They have always been based upon how a person's body reacts when he is lying. If you are an expert liar, it is easy to beat.
