Hello. I am considering starting up on the depo shot...I intend on just trying it for one cycle(first three months) to see how my body reacts to it. I've heard that one of the symptoms are bad acne...Ladies, if you HAVE NOT experienced acne(including dark spots) while on the shot, please let me know. I understand that every woman's body is different and I wanna know the different experiences. In addition, if my skin does react negatively to depo, then is it possible to take birth control pills at the same time to keep my skin in good condition? Thanx a bunch!

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

I never had any acne problems while on depo but I did get really sick. Everyone does react differently I bleed the entire 3 months which defeated the purpose! I also gained a significant amount of weight and had the hardest time getting back to a regular cycle these are all possible side effects that you should discuss with your doctor. As far as taking birth control pills while on the shot never will throw your hormones out of whack for sure and can be fatal.

Wow! Its funny you ask! I was on Depo many years ago, and dealt with many long lasting side effects which I believe were caused by the shot. In 2000, I started a petition on-line regarding the side effects of the drug, and to date have 2951 signatures to support my case. I would take careful consideration before starting the shot. From my experience, acne was the least of my worries. Hope I could help! Diana

I had no acne problems with depo, but did have problems getting pregnant after going off it.

You can NOT take birth control at the same time as depo.
