No, you should not go to church to find a date. Although many do, you should not be like them. You should go to church to praise, worship and thank God for the things He has done and continue to do for you. While there you can pray and ask God to send you someone with characteristics of the Proverbs 31 lady.

Depends on what church you go to. Find a young, dynamic, growing church that helps you build that relationship with God. Focus on that for a little while and see once what God has instore for you.

what a better place than your local community church to find recent prison parolees, sex offenders, repressed women, con artists, thieves and abusers, and even online trollers

Why not? It's a place where people gather with a common interest and try to present themselves well. And if it means anything, my first girlfriend was a chruch girl who turned out to be a real closet freak.
