According to Christian theology, Satan and a bunch of angels fought against God and the rest of the angels.
1.) If God is so powerful, why did he need angels to help him fight?
2.) If he is all-knowing, howcome he didn't know that Satan would turn bad? If he did know, why did he create Satan at all?
3.) If heaven is supposed to be beautiful and perfect, with no tears or crying or pain, then how can there have been a war? How can one be sure there won't be more? Why would I want to go there if it's no better than Earth?

So, BibleGod doesn't NEED angels, but he doesn't like to kill, so he gets them to do his dirty work. OK, sort of like how the Mafia works, I get it--obey God or get your arms broken. Nice "choice" we have there.
Never thought of heaven as a place that's "tough on crime." That still makes me think of it as no better than any Earth city where the mayor promises to clear out the drug lords and vandals--nice, maybe, but hardly the paradise Christians pretend it to be. I would expect better of an omnipotent deity.

God knew beforehand Lucifer would rebel? So why create Lucifer at all, then? "Free will"? Where does the Bible say that humans have free will? God PUNISHES people for using their own will! He predestined people to follow Jesus or not, he hardened the Pharoah's heart, there are numerous verses saying that GOD directs a man's life and humans cannot comprehend it. Really, you people need to read your Bible more often and stop believing your pastors.
And I still haven't seen any proof that the Christian heaven is a place that I would want to live. You people aren't very convincing, are you? Maybe Valhalla would be more fun.

"1.) If God is so powerful, why did he need angels to help him fight?"
God defeated satan when Jesus died on the cross and rose to life on the third day.
"2.) If he is all-knowing, howcome he didn't know that Satan would turn bad? If he did know, why did he create Satan at all?"
Actually he did. God planned satan to become evil and tempt man into doing wrong so at the cross, God will be glorified.
"3.) If heaven is supposed to be beautiful and perfect, with no tears or crying or pain, then how can there have been a war? How can one be sure there won't be more? Why would I want to go there if it's no better than Earth?"
That was the old heaven. God will create a new heaven when we go.

First, God did not need to fight, when He already knew before hand the devil would lose. The Lord is all powerful by Himself and does not need anyone's help including the angels. But, when He created the angels, He created them to be productive and purposeful and He gave them jobs. And one of those jobs was to fight. Secondly, God's plan's are always pure and holy. He did not make the devil so he could cause havoc, but His desire was he would remain faithful. When he created Satan he was pure and holy, but angels are beings of choice just like we are. Remember when Israel asked for a king, the Lord chose Saul. He started off well and then made a choice to turn bad. You might not understand this, but God let the devil start what he did, so the others angels would learn from his mistake and not fall into the same pitfall. Also, God as creator and Lord over all reserves the right to use some beings for noble purposes and others for ignoble (the devil) purpose to seperate the good from the bad. Thirdly, The Lord Himself promises in the next life there will be no more crying, pain, or tears. The Lord holds His Word hight above all things. He can not lie. I have seen heaven in a dream and there are no words in our vocabulary to describe it. It is far superior than this world could ever hope.

Damn. You got some serious religious issues going on there.
1) God is powerful, but he's like that bull in the fighting ring, you have to keep pushing and pushing to make him push back. I believe God does not wish to destroy or kill, that's why Michael and the others got involved.
2) Satan, or Lucifer, was the Angel of Light. He was the most beautiful angel in heaven. When God gave souls and live to Adam and then Eve, Satan got "pissed" and that started it. Funny how most movies betray him as an ugly beast, when originally he was the most beautiful of all.
3) Wars are inevitable wherever you go. The war in Heaven ended ages ago, but continues right now with you and me.
Think of all the great leaders, teachers, artists (any form of art) that are in heaven. I am going to love debating with John Kennedy, cooking with Julia Child, and learning from Edgar A. Poe. There will be so much to do, and an eternity to do it!

1- It is more than obvious that God let his angels fight the other angels, without interfering himself. If the case was as you asked, then it could have gone either way, and that does not make sense. God creates angels, they become bad and they could take over and do what to us? I do not think so. God is and always will be in control.
2- He created Lucifer, then Lucifer became power hungry. He did not create him that way.
3- Where does it say that heaven is tear free? where? where does it say its pain free before satans expulsion? I am sure its great! Kinda like a city that gets tough on crime. really tough! If there is badness in your home and you destroy or get rid of it, is the home still evil?

God knows everything. He didn't need His angels to fight for Him, He wanted them to. Just like He doesn't need us to love Him, He wants us to love Him. If God didn't give Satan the opportunity to make his own choices, then you would be screaming about how unfair that is. Satan made his own choice, even though God knew what that would be. Just like He gives all of us the opportunity to choose the right path, knowing full well that many people won't. Don't think of the war in heaven as a traditional type of war you see here. It didn't last years. Since time isn't an issue in heaven, it was pretty much finished as soon as it was started. Satan decided he was just as powerful and important as God. God showed him rather quickly that that wasn't the case. End of story.

Simply put, Lucifer became jealous. That's why there was a war in Heaven. God knew that Lucifer would rebel, but gave him every chance to change his mind. Also, God has always had an army and according to the Bible, St. Michael the Archangel is its leader. I don't know why God used angels to fight for Him. Perhaps He was hoping that some of the rebels would change their mind.
Besides, He's God. He can do whatever He wants.

Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and the angels with him that rebelled against God. They weren't fighting against God.
God knew that Satan would rebel against him. He wouldn't be just if he only created angels that would not rebel against him. In creating beings with freedom of choice the possibility exists that some would want to do evil.
Because God knows all there is to know, as he did before he created the first angel, he knows that in heaven there will never again be any war, or crying or pain.
After we die we either go to heaven or hell.

God needs angels because although he can do everything, sometimes lesser heavenly beings would be more advantagious to him. He did know Satan would go bad, but he created him and gave him his agency to do what he wanted to do. War was a general term. Think more of a heated debate. That was the Pre-Earth heaven. The Post-Earth heaven will be pure and not have any bad people in it.

1. God didn't need the angels to help him fight, however He was hoping that Lucifer would turn back, considering that he was supposed to be God's favorite. The angels were fighting each other.
2. Free will, just like w/ humans, the angels were given free will
3. The angels were fighting over us/humans, as God seemed to favor us, His children over the angels.
4. Are you married? Would you prefer that your spouse chose you over others, or that he had no other choice but you? God is the same, he wants our love to be a choice, he wants us to choose Him, not be given no choice. So, in that, He created an imperfect world so that He would know that we chose Him, that of all our choices, we chose to come to Him.

Great Question Thumbs up
This is in regards to the savior of the earth's being chosen
After The Fall, describes the Council in Heaven over what to do with the newfound existence of sin. these passages describe the council in polytheistic terms. Heavenly Father was not the only person (i.e. being) present. 1/3 of the host of heaven was cast out as there were no fence sitters these never gained a human body.
"our Heavenly Father knew and loved each one of us. He knew we would need help, so he planned a way to help us." ("Jesus Christ) Heavenly Father had a choice between Jesus or Lucifer as savior of this world. Jesus said, "Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever" "He, like our Heavenly Father, wanted us to choose whether we would obey Heavenly Father's commandments. He knew we must be free to choose in order to prove ourselves worthy of exaltation."
On the flipside, Lucifer proposed, "Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor" In other words, Lucifer wanted to force everyone to do God's will.
After hearing both sides, Heavenly father decided, "I will send the first" And so, Jesus was "chosen" to be the savior of this world. This decision caused what is known as the war in heaven
hope this explains things.
