this exact thing just happened to me. i met a guy and nothing came of it for about 6 mos. he was away for a while and i realized how much i missed him. at first i sent him and email and soon after that we started chatting on the phone again. just go for it. you dont have anything to lose...and you cant be embarrassed if you dont see them much. an email is a great way to start up a conversation again. you can think about what you want to say as you type and dont have to send if you're not ready. try to mention things you did together that were fun. good memories are always a plus!
