Is this correct? We are taking the long way around and in the meantime we are forgetting the threat is already upon us and is in process, and if we don't act now that we will lose? Is this true in your opinion? I wish to know your thoughts?

terrorism is doomed to failer- because they are killing each other--tribal warfare--or sectarian warfare--has been going on for centuries--my god ,your god ,anybody's god--says that there should be peace and understanding with all people--religeion should not be a devisive factor-we are all trapped on this small planet-and certainly it would be in our best interest to move forward and stop the carnage--don't you agree?

Since we are in a war I submit this invalidates your 1st observation that American ALWAYS avoid war.

Do we as a country know the definitive answer to fighting a war with terrorist? No, less we would have finished with Iraq at least a year ago. This is a new type of war even different from the Vietnam.

I doubt we have forgotten that that the threat is upon us and many other countries. My opinion.

Guerrilla warfare is always tough. There are no defined battle lines and anyone could be the enemy. Big battles out in the open are becoming a thing of the past. Urban warfare is what is taking its place. The American military recognizes this and practices urban warfare but it's such a fluid event that anticipating every conceivable scenario is impossible. It's unfortunately, baptism by fire. Literally. When doing a building clearing with bad guys inside, you can expect 60-70 percent casualties if not more. It's dirty, dangerous work and those that do it have more balls than I ever will.

I will say we have fought PC wars since WW2. You cannot win a PC war. You win wars by attrition!
