that I just got a msn s/n and want to add some people from here (you guys) to my account, so I can chat with you? ....just as friends, and in case you need advice...I can try to help you out?..

because people say you shouldn't give out info. like this.

I would just be worried that some of the crackpots on here would harass you. However you could always block or delete them. I think that would be acceptable practice provided you kept your home phone out of it. I think that is very kind of you to try and help others just please be careful. Good luck.

There's nothing wrong with making friends on line. The only thing that can pose a problem is giving out personal information, such as what town you live in and in what sate, your phone number, your address, and various personal things that can help some wacko find you. Be very cautious with people on the Internet, more so than you would even with a stranger in the store. Mainly because you can't see this person like you can a stranger in the store, you don't really know if it's a man or woman you're talking to, and you have no idea if this person is who they say they are. All I would advise is exercise extreme caution, try not to become TO friendly, and be wise about who you add, and when it's time to delete someone. Be safe. :)
