Because it's hard for people to let go of their own personal feelings on death and dying to think of the pain and suffering one must endure to see death as the more desirable outcome. We've made advances enough to allow many people WELL beyond their intended "shelf life" In some cases, the treatment is far worse than the natural course of the illness...we're prolonging their misery and stripping them of dignity.

Life IS precious. When faced with the prospect of death, that's probably never more clear. It's not an easy decision to come to, that being said. However, it's hard for people to HELP usher their loved ones to death and let go of the connotations of doing so. All religious arguments aside

I believe in euthanasia, especially if there are a lot of checks to make sure the person being euthanized wants it, and isn't just in a temporary depression. As a society, we haven't got a very good track record in letting people do what they want to with their own bodies and their own lives.

I believe that any sane person over the age of 21 should have the right to die for any reason.

This may seem callous but we have made suicide such a giant deal and set it up as an act of last resort. It would be better to be like,"Well OK,if you really want to come on down and fill out some forms. Of course we'll have to make sure that you have your wits about you first. But sure, we can help you.".

I think we should allow the creator to deal with death.
But as my own dad and mother died of cancer.I allowed pain killers to him them with the pain.My mother said she was never in pain. The cancer had robbed her mind of the sensation of pain. How can I not thank God for that kind of mercy?
When my dog had cancer I had no clue if she had pain or not.She was a kind ,loving dog.She lived a long life,we had her put down.<><

It is prohibited in my religion ..Allah has a right to give life and to take life..Allah says in the Quran :
Allah says in the Quran
Surah Al Mulk
Chapter 67 Verse 2
He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;-

And logically speaking,if euthanasia is to be allowed, what are the limits?Would you allow hospitals to refuse patients or give them poisen instead of trying to save them?

God gave us dominion over the animals. Do you eat meat? If so, then the "morality" of killing animals should be answered for you.

Euthanasia is wrong for humans. We do not have the right to end our lives or the lives of others of our own choosing. This is simply dressed-up murder.

Humans possess a special and unique dignity given to them by God, and affirmed by Jesus Christ on the cross.

Made in God's own image and likeness, no one but God has the right to decide when any human being's life should end.

Animals are not made in God's image and likeness.

Man was given the use of them, and dominion over them by God, including permission to kill them and eat them.

Its a form of compassion to allow it to someone who wants it if one has a fatal disease and is in pain, but its not for people who are just depressed or heart-broken.
