I need to get a trim really bad but just can't get one right now. My ends are really dry. Will mayo help or can you suggest something else that may? Thanks

As a stylist, I hate the mayo thing. I'm sorry but if I can eat it, it won't be on my hair! You will have a rough time getting the smell out and after time it will actually end up dryer. You need to use good products. Many products u can buy at walmart or places like that contain wax. Your hair will look good for awhile but then it starts to get dry and dull. This is because they use wax as a filler to make the products cheaper. the wax will start building up and coat the hairshaft so the conditioners can't penetrate your hair anymore. You can get treseme it has less wax but is still cheap. THe best thing is to go all professional but if you don't have the $ then try that line. Always use a serum before using any hot tool and get a trim as soon as you can. You might look for a salon chain. They often run specials for cuts. Or try to barter with your stylist, alot of us trade out services(nothing crazy though lol) I trade alot for tanning or business cards or t-shirts, tatoos,or jewlry. Maybe you have a talent that could help your stylist. Hope this helps

I've heard that mayonnaise is a good natural conditioning for hair...however one normally doesn't like all the hassle of it. I've tried Alberto VO-5 hair dressing. It has five conditioners in it and only takes a dab in either wet or dry hair and one tube will last you a LONG time. Plus it will give your hair extra shine! It doesn't cost alot and is worth the money. It's a quick fix to unruly, frizzy hair until you can afford that trim you want. Hope this helps...good luck

yes mayo is very good, instead of using the regular one, they sell a product call hair mayonnaise, it is exceptionally good, loaded with herbs and protein and its not expensive, you can also try trimming your hair yourself, use your scissor to trim (dust) small pieces off, not a lot, it helps and it will probably be far less than what the hairdresser trims off.

I have heard mayo can do it, but I put baby oil in my daughter's hair once a week let it sit for a half a hour, then wash it out. People love her hair because it is so soft and shiney.

The mayonnaise thing worked pretty well for me; just work it through your hair, wrap in plastic wrap, and sit under a hair dryer for 5-10 minutes, then wash your hair like normal.

I don't remember where I heard it, I think on a talk show or something, but they said this was the worst thing that they ever tried. The smell of eggs stays in your hair for weeks, regardless of how many times you wash it. They said just use a deep-conditioner and it will do the same thing.

Meh. I tried it once and it made my hair REALLY REALLY REALLY oily and in order to get all the grease out I had to use grease fighting dish soap. Haha, long story short the dish soap ended up stripping my hair and making it more dry and more damaged than before the mayo.

use Lubriderm moisturizer in your hair after you wash and condition it, while its still wet....it REALLY helps dry ends! (you should do this before bed because you may want to wash your hair again in the morning). I use it, it helps alot!
