I think what mankind has done to religion is a sin in the eyes of my Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus prophecied that this would be the case, so I am not surprised.

Following a man, a group or an organization rather than Jesus is indeed a sin. The Bible tells us to "forsake not the gathering together of the brethren" meaning we should go to church to fellowship and obviously by Jesus' example we are to be taught by preachers but the danger comes in when we erroneously believe that our church or our leader is the only way to God. We should also be wary of "religions" that openly defy the Bible such as Catholicism which still bows to graven images and still confesses to men though the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is our intercessor. Any church that says no one other than themselves is going to Heaven is NOT of God. Anyone who gets their eyes off the real meaning of the gospel and chooses a church or to follow a man rather than God is not a Christian. So to answer your question, YES, indeed some religions are sin in the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm a Christian and say, YES ! Religion is not spirituality but just that "religion" . Religion is a ritualistic approach to what one serves to be his or her god. It may be the BIGGIE - $ , self, drugs, sex, booze, careers, education, satanism, intellectualism, cars, homes, furniture, ... etc. etc. Yes; Jesus hates idolatry because people fail to be happy when they pursue these things solely, of them selves apart from God. On the other hand, Jesus loves spirituality, in a relationship with Him called GRACE. Religion amounts to legalism (dos and don'ts); whereas, spirituality promotes purpose and identity therefore, happiness from within.

There are two kinds of religion in the Bible:

a) Vain religion - is a sin in the eyes of God

James 1:26
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

b) Pure religion - righteous in the eyes of God

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

God was disappointed with O.T> worship because it was so routine and not from the heart. That has happen in much of our worship today. It is like threading the words though our lips, but our heatrs are far from Him. Going to church sing songs of praise no matter how wonderful they are and not meaning them are worthless as far as God is concerned. The same with sermons we hear, feel emotion maybe, but don't change us. God wants to spit such religion out of His mouth.

I `m not sure I understand the question.Religion can be worshipping Jesus and having a set of rules that you live by or it can be worshipping some other form of Religion.Spirituality is something that one feels inside and is part of who that person is.

Religion is man bringing God to his level or trying to change Him. Yes it is. Without faith it is impossible to please God

(Romans 14:23) And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
