In the U.S., a high school age teen prepares for two years for Confirmation.

An adult would prepare for about four months.

With love in Christ.

Hey - I'm a trainee vicar in the UK - I think it's different depending on the style of the priest. Most have about 4 evenings where you look at what the C of E is, who Jesus is and what he has meant to you through your life, what is confirmation (and recieving the Holy Spirit), etc.
I recomend you do an Alpha Course if you're interested - they'll cover most of it but in a much more user friendly (listening to you as well as talking at you) sort of way than you'll get in many churches.
Hope this helps

1.) Check reason at the door. Anyone caught reasoning will be burned at the stake.
2.) Memorize alot of fairy tales from a poorly translated 2,000 year old book, much of whose content is irrelevant today
3.) Lots of deep knee bends for genuflecting and praying
