A paddle to spank your behind! I'm a mother of 5 and although I find this question humorous (I asked for spatulas for christmas), mother's day isn't about the gift. I don't care what anyone says. Mother's day is a chance for you to show your appreciation for all that she's done for you and how much you love having her around. If you don't have the money to spend, give her a gift from the heart. Years from now, when she opens her hope chest and pulls out that gift, there will be a special story to go along with it.....not much you can say about a spatula hon.

Probably because that would be like her buying you a fork or something equally as boring. Plus, the cardianal rule for buying women gifts is not buying them cooking/cleaning utensils, because that sends the message that cooking and cleaning is all that they are good for, and its not an enjoyable gift. Don't you think she deserves more for what she's done for you?

If you're strapped for cash, turn to dad, or simply get her some flowers.

Did she ask for a spatula? Get her Roses or something that she has hinted she wants or needs.

You must be a guy. That's a "guy" present. Never buy a woman an appliance (vacuum cleaners, etc.) or kitchen accessories (unless they ask for it). What does she like? Does she have hobbies? Does she like flowers? If she does, find out what she likes. What stores does she frequent, buy a gift card (if you can't think of anything else).

Better do better this year jewery is aways nice and some flowers. Better yet take her out to eat, or clean the house for her, or treat her to a day at the spa....Do something for her that she wouldn't do for herself!
Good Luck!

Offer to cook to give her a break, or clean up after the meal.
