The best way I can recommend you to try is every time your three yr old wants sumthing to drink put it in a cup. your 3 yr old will problay through a fit but after a while ur 3 yr old will get really thirsty and will drink from a cup. just keep that up and eventually the child will get use to the cup and won't want a bottle just don't show a bottle to the child when u start this either throw the bottles out or hide them in case you have a new baby.

Try having the "bottle fairy" make a visit to your son/daughter. have her/him help you pack up all the bottles and make a big fuss over how the bottle fairy will come and take away the bottles and bring him/her a new big-kid present. Be sure to have sippy cups around for a while before you do. Once the bottle fairy comes, be sure to throw them away so you won't be tempted to give in.
When my daughter was 3 the binky fairy came. She fussed for a day or so, but was so pleased with her dance shoes and leotard that she stopped pretty quickly. (And her teeth straightened out completely within 6 months.)

If you have stopped breast feeding you need to immediately start giving him/her a sippy cup and wait about a month or two and start alternating a plastic cup and a sippy cup only when out of the house. I hope this is of any help after 8 kids I have become sorta a pro at least lol.

If I understand your question right your child should have tried a tippie cup at a year old and cups with straws and then progressed to plastic kid cups without a lid and maybe a cheap glass cup by now. I have a 2 year old that can drink out of any cup. All I can say is offer him a plastic cup with a little liquid in it-He might just surprise you. good luck!

I would only give him a bottle before bed and the rest of the bottles throw out. Then all day long it's sippy cups. He has to learn sometimes. It's better to start now then when they start PreK.

Take away the bottle completely, he/she is old enough to drink from a glass. When he/she gets thirsty enough he/she will drink from a glass. Three years old is too old to have a bottle. Besides the worry of bottlemouth, think how he/she will look in two years when he/she goes to kindergarten with a bottle hanging out of his/her face!

My boys are fairly close in age. They were all different though when it came to their bottle. My first could care less, my second took his till he was 19 mos old and i finally had to just take it because i was expecting my third in only a month, my third son just threw his away. Anyway my point is, you may think their going to throw a fit about it, but i found it was me holding on to them being on the bottle, not them! So my advice is, just take it away.

The step in between real glass and a bottle is the sippy cup, does not spill, and easy to wash and will not break!

Try the sippy cups from munskin I think that's how you spell it. They have Dora or sponge bob and just be firm if she is thirsty she will drink out of it. We sent all our bottles to the bottle fairy and she left the new sippy cup behind
