Yes, I understand that. Do people who don't have organized religion in their lives realize that by being good people they have quite an impact on those blinded by the religion? People like that - are marvels. It causes people to think. Why would someone without God live a good life? I like things that cause people to think.

Please don't feel that "religious" ( I really dislike that term)
look down on anyone that does not attend church or belong
to an organized religion. I believe that 99% of this world's
population are good, caring, loving ,kind, honest and wonderful people. There is a myth that has been perpetuated in this society that a person must be good to get to heaven or to be a Christian.
No, not true. If anyone is looking toward how good they are
to get to Heaven, then they missed the boat. Good doesn't
merit anything as far as salvation. There is only one way
to heaven and that is because there is one that already
paid the price for all to enter. He overcame hell, death and
the grave and it only takes 3 words to give anyone an
immortal life in Christ, What 3 words? "Jesus save me".
Now, Jews will dispute this easy salvation with me but they
are under a different covenant. Since they will not accept
the salvation that Jesus offers--it is their choice to live by
the laws. They gain salvation by living the law and being
good. Please don't misunderstand and think that Christians
can live like the devil and get away with it. Oh no. The
Lord would get us straightened out pretty quick. Beware,
there are many that are Christians in name only because it
suits their purpose--but they are not Christians by faith.

you are definitely right! being religious is not always the same as being spiritual. goodness comes from the inside and the glow that comes from within flows outward towards other people.

i do not agree totally with organized religion as it is a way of controlling people. religious leaders (not all, mind all) can use it to hold over the heads of their followers. they use religion sometimes to make others feel guilty and learn to hate anyone or anything that does not conform to their doctrines.

i have met so many religious people who have so much hatred and condemnation for others who may not be like them.....they are so unJesus-like in their ways....very much like the pharisees.

God knows our heart and our soul......He knows us more than we know ourselves. leave it to Him to judge us. no one else has the authority to do so. not even religious fanatics who are "holier than thou" ...those who point fingers in judgement on those who do not follow their dogma.

I understand that, but then again I'm not a part of any of the major religions.

I understand this. And, so does my religion. We are taught that the good of the earth will go to heaven when they die-no matter what their religion-or lack of it-is.

One can't demonize people if you deal with the facts. It requires dishonesty and falshoods to get away with it, and many religious types have no problem in making up fiction about non-believers.

They deal in fiction every day.

The BIBLE says that our "righteousness is as filthy rags". We cannot be "good" according to GOD'S standards. HIS ways are higher than our ways and HIS thoughts than our thoughts.
Sadly the truth is that "good ppl " are dying and going to hell everyday. The BIBLE also says that hell is being enlarged daily to hold all those that would not believe.
This is NOT because GOD is some evil ogre in the sky. It is because HE has given us HIS word,His creation and a measure of faith and if we reject all of this then the alternative is eternity in hell. One cannot ride the fence.

I understand that completely. Two of the nicest and most generous people I've ever known were practicing pagans.
