its a "grid" typewarning light and its on the extreme bottom right of the dashboard instrument panel,the car has been standing unused for over six months, i wondered if this has any significance to the problem, i,d be very grateful for any answers or help, thanks.

Well try the blinkers and see where they are located. I had a car and one side did not work and the other side stayed on. Now if the other side blinks in about the same spot the othert one is at then you know you just need to change the blinker fuse.

If you turn the car on, not starting see if it has any letters on it. If you start the car, and the light stays on possibility that your battery is low. Otherwise, if you plan to keep it long. Go to ebay.com and buy an owners manual there.

You did not state is the vehicle running and it stays on, or does the light come on in a couple of minutes. When you turn the car on, there are lights that come on and turn off when you turn the engine on. Check your fuses too.
