My bf uses phrases such as ...'if we were married' does that actually signify that hes though / thinking about it

I had a gf once with whom I would speak of "la premiere nuit de la mariage"! That was in 1961, and we still communicate in French.

But it's by e-mail these days, and no, we never got married.

No. It's just a phrase that some people use to say, if we were... to say how they would think the moment would be or how life would be for that instance.
