How long have you been in contact with this person? My husband (Australian) and I (American) met online. He came to California to meet me and we hit it off like a house on fire and got married a couple months later. That was 2002 and it's now 2007 and we're still going strong. It can work but there will obviously be ups and downs

Good Luck. You dont realize it but small cultural differences will be the hardest thing. I am from the States but dated a Canadian. I still think he is the greatest. But the small differences in things like our political views eventually took a toll. Also, never getting to see each other is hard. I just wish you luck. It can work.

Well, if your serious, go meet this person. It could go one of two ways, Good or Bad! Then take it from there. I am getting married next month to my online, long distance , love affair after two long years. We can no longer live apart. We visit as much as we can but, it is very difficult on us. If you do it and it turns out real, prepare to spend hours online to build and keep your relationship strong. Good luck!

Well I am involved in a situation like that but we are both in the USA and within somewhat reasonable driving distance...that is a situation that you might want to avoid though, sounds like a lot more issues involved...

There isn't much you can do in this situation. I tried a long distance relationship and mine didn't work out so I wish you the best in making it work. Maybe they will move closer to you, or you could even move close to the.

Try to protect yourself first. You never truly know who this person is...meeting someone once briefly, doesn't uncover the true aspects of that person. Think twice before impulsively rearranging your life!

What you think they are writing you, it may not even be them. You don't know squat about this person, go ahead and find out for yourself. Let me take a wild guess, they want a green card, you are their ticket to the U.S.
