I'm not sure on your numbers but...yes, illegal immigrants pay a LOT in taxes.
Most employers won''t employ them unless they have a Social Security #...Fake or not, the taxes deducted from payroll still get sent to the gov't. Does the Gov't nicely send them back & say "sorry, we can't take this...we know it's fake"? Of course not! they collect every penny of it.
Not to mention Social Security & Medicaid which are also deducted from payroll, which the illegal immigrant will never get to see the benefit of.

El Thugo Gangstero, ur probly an okay guy. If only you weren't letting yourself be brainwashed. There is no such number in the link you provided. Further, It dealt with LEGAL immigrants!

I read that LEGAL Immigrants added $52 Billion to the US GDP in the decade from 1996 to 2005. I'm looking for the article. It was in the news last week. Most of the money came from the single biggest contributor, Indian Nationals in Silicon Valley.

Second was Chinese immigrants.

I'll have to agree that the $50 billion a week is quite impossible. Though I have read that many at the Swift meat packing plants have stolen ID's and do pay taxes. The more I read, the more I see that the expense is much higher, especially in social services and the burden on the education system.

I know (as most of us do; anyone who saw the movie "Transporter" pt 1) that many illegals are from China, and other places besides Mexico. And illegal is illegal. Germans and other Europeans are regularly caught with expired visas. The difference? They're sent back.

I don't know where you got your ridiculously inflated figure, but according to the Center for Immigration Studies, households headed by illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government in 2002 and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of almost $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household.

Please note that is $16 billion a YEAR paid by illegal aliens. There's a heck of a lot of difference between $16 billiion a YEAR and $50 billion a WEEK.

So is the question about taxes or immigration? The average American resident pays between 40% and 60% of his or her yearly income to the government. If you're saying taxes makes illegal immigration okay, I don't follow the logic, but I have no problem with people who support themselves. I'm sorry for those who do and can't keep their money, illegal or not.

50 billion times 52 weeks in year i make out to be 2 trillion 600 billion! If every illegal and Exxon turned over ALL their pay it would not add up to the figure you are stating as a fact. Did you go to public school?

Here's a statistic for you. 42 % of all statistics are just made up!

I'll assume your dollar figure is correct. But what does that have to do with them still being illegal? How many hundred's of billions a week in taxes to legal immigrants pay do you think?

LOL, that is not possible. That means each illegal alien spends $2500 a week in taxes.

$50 billion a week / 20 million illegal aliens = $2500 a week.
