We only went out once. Is it ok to just not return his calls or e-mails? Or would he rather hear the truth, that I'm not interested?

Tell him the truth, but let him down in a nice way.

Guys have always told me that they'd rather have the girl say that she wasn't interested so they don't waste their time calling. You don't have to say, "I don't like you, leave me alone!" Say something along the lines of, "Hey I had a great time the other night, but I think it's better that we be friends." You're being honest and nice about it. Ignoring his calls will just make him upset and bug you more. It'll be hard the first few times, but it really isn't that bad. Guys are more understanding than we give them credit for. Good luck!

Give him a chance to hear it from you. I believe everyone deserves that at least! Then you won't have the annoying phone calls or e-mails, as long as, he gets the clue.

Truth, they might be a little disappointed but it's better then making them wonder. They will get over it. After all, it was just one date. Did you eat pizza? on your first date I mean? i have a craving for pizza.
