PLease before considering this dog...read this. I just got a 5 week old 2 days ago..I noticed somthing seemed wrong with his eyes. This led me to the vets. He told me he had corneal ulcers and was probably blind. Not what I wanted to hear so I go to another vet. Even worse..The poor thing was already blind..his corneal ulcers were so bad that they would have had to cut his skin all around his eyes,His left eye was sunk in,,,He had a severe hernia that his intestines had dropped into his testicles. The vet said Sha peis are very hard to maintain a healthy life. And "Bruno" at only 5 weeks old was so bad that they recommended putting him to sleep. They also said that even if we had $10,000.00 for surgery it wasn't going to cure him. We felt we had no choice but to put him to sleep after loving him for only 24 hours. It broke my heart to know this type of breed has this many health problems. So I would not recommend getting one.

I'd considered getting a Shar Pei. The reason I chose not to is because the breed is NOTORIOUS for health problems, particularly allergies. These are VERY expensive to treat, and the treatment is required for life. I just couldn't afford the possible vet bills.

They are cute though :)

ANY 8 week old pup will be adorable. I dont own one but it is true that they have a better chance of something going wrong because the folds in the skin. Skin problems are a tough thing and even more exspensive. Research a breed before you go find one and make sure that breed is going to work with your life style. Also check out petfinder.org to find a dog that needs to be resqued first!!

Cute as puppies, not so much as adults.

Shar peis can be very aggressive dogs. This isn't the best dog for a family with small children. Much training is required to make sure your dog doesn't act out.

He has were given a level Gart. If all of us used produce that became in season too it would want to help with international warming as gas would not be mandatory to shipping out of season stuff. I get exhilaration from that there are some human beings regardless of the reality that who can't arise with the money for clean produce or are not any further cookery minded so that they are going to motel to creating use of packets and tins. Time too performs a component with the overall public of Mums operating lately. i in my opinion in common words like using clean. convinced, it would want to be very interesting to make certain Delia on the F be conscious lol !!!!
