I have met my current boyfriend on the internet (msn spaces). It was completely random we didnt start flirting or chatting each other up we just started leaving comments to blogs and got to know each other through our sites. After months went by msn came in and so did phone calls. I told my parents because i knew it was going to be moe than a fling. He lives in QLD and i live in TAS which are two different states in Aust but we make do and see each other reguarly and now i am moving up to QLD to be with him. It CAN work out although be careful that they are who they say they are. My close friends and family know the truth on how me and him met and to begin with used to say i was foolish and naive and it owuld never work out, but now they have met him and see how he makes me happy and realise that they shouldnt have judged me or him or the relationship so soon based on stories you hear on 60 minutes. My parents took a bit to get used to but all parents are wary of their youngest only daughter!!

I have a friend that met his wife online ...however there is a lot of bad publicity about online dating so I think people do still think that if one searches online they are either a looser or looking for sex. It is a generalization yes but that is how most of the people that I know, feel about it. I know there are a lot of good people out there just looking to meet that special person and don't want to go to bars so just be cautious and follow the rules. Meet in a public place and be sure that the person is who they say they are.

I just recently met someone on here of all places...I have told a few people that when the time is right we are planning to see if we can be serious, but its a long distance thing...the people I have told about it are very supportive...who cares what anyone thinks anyway, as long as you are happy!

Just lie and tell everyone you met in church. No really, I think more and more people are dating through online venues and most people don't have a problem w/ it. If you find someone who makes you happy that's all that really matters.

My husband and I met in a chatroom. Nobody has reacted negatively to our relationship in any way or thought we were losers. Most people think it's pretty cool, especially since he was from Australia and I was from U.S.A.

I'm a friend of a gal who is on Match.com. I think she's smart to broaden her options. It makes a lot of sense to know more about the other person these days. It's like quality dating.

Online dating doesn't work I've done it lots of times and it sucks! I suggest you don't do it. Relatives and Friends aren't very supportive.

i have never dated online, but i know someone who has. PLEASE, PLEASE be very selective about the people you choose. she is a great person, but the guy she found is HORRIBLE. only she can't seem to see it.trust your friends and family's opinion of the person. don't tell them you met him/her online (that may cloud their judgment). but sometimes the people who care about us can see things in people that we may be too blinded by love to see..
