its not a simile, or personiification???? so what is it?
i need this soon coz im analyzing a poem for my essay

"To stop one's heart from breaking" is a personification. The description of the heart as an object tangible enough to be broken physically is the key here. Personifications describe objects acting in unusual ways. See the link below for comparison.

Similes compare one thing to another, as in "My head is like a sieve," meaning you can't remember things well.
