I met a guy awhile ago in one of my classes. I had a crush on him, but Im really shy. We small talked but nothing ever amounted to anything. so over the course of the past 4 yrs, Ive bumped into him on several occasions; the mall, parties, even on the road (and no Im not stalking him, haha) but was always too shy to really strike up a convo. But we are friends on myspace and I wrote him a message once to see how his summer was going and we wrote back and forth but I ended the message chain w/ 'maybe i'll see ya around' or something to that effect. then i heard he had a gf at that time and so I felt stupid and pretty much tried to forget what i did. Until recently I heard they broke up and he is single again. I dont see our mutual friend very much so I cant get the scoop w/o looking creepy. His bday is coming up and I was thinking to myspace him 'happy birthday' but Im scared it will look like I'm trying too hard or that i'm just flat out nuts? am Im trying to force something here?

i am/was/is sorta going thru the same thing.
except cross out the myspace junk and more talking in person.
but yeah, do you guys live near each other or is this a distant friendship. because if you guys are near eachother, you should just drop buy and surprise him for his birthday. worst that could happen is that he may have another gf, but risks are a part of life.
the part that you're not sure about liking him or not, i know what you mean. i'm not sure if i like my friend, but then i'm not sure if i am crazy. but best of luck to you. try talking more. just start out with small talk about how you've guys have been and maybe try to see if you guys can hangout with eachother, exchange numbers...DO something!

just say happy birthday. its not creepy. your friend even though you don't see him. Your his myspace friend. things happen but that is the past. just think of tommrow.

Just send him a b-day message...for cryin' out loud...and tell him...HEY, I haven't gotten to talk to in awhile...how r u??
PM him and leave a phone number...and a "hope you can call soon!!"...You'll never know until you do.

Your alright, just try to think of a subtle way to let him know... mention a movie you want to see or something... see if he gets the idea...
