Go in person to your local post office and ask clerk for Passport Packet. This will tell you what you will need to get your passport such as a copy of birth certificate,photos and what size they must be. Also,it will indicate the different fees you'll be charged for the passport.

you can find this information at the link i provided. you can print off the aplications, go to Kinkos for your photos, and mail everything in. the one thing to be prepared for...the price! it's about 90ish dollars i think. also, if you've lost or don't have your birth certificate, you must order it from the place you were born, and that may take some time.

You have to go to the same place that you would go to ...to obtain a drivers license.....just like a drivers license you need to bring proper identification and fill out papers
