I've had Insomnia for over three years now. It comes and goes, whenever I'm stressed, which just happens to be now as I've got my final year uni exams!!

At the most I'm getting one hour a night - it's torture. My doctor reluctantly prescribes me sleeping pills but I can't have one tonight as I won't be able to get up for uni tomorrow!!

Times like this make me miss my ex....we were only together a few months, but he'd always stay up with me and we'd talk about anything and everything.

I haven't heard from him now for five weeks- he just dropped me without explanation. Obviously I was played as I'm fairly sure he's with someone else...still can't believe it as everything was going great -we were so into each other. Hey....maybe my Insomnia DID bother him after all, ha ha!!!

OK, rant over. Feel better now I've had a moan. How's everyone else doing?

Thank you to everyone who's answered so far.

Acco5: Hope you're getting treatment for your depression. It's such a misunderstood illness. I am well up on this subject, unfortunately - my best friend has been bipolar for years, so I really sympathise with you & wish you all the very best. x

Angelheart: I am the most independent, outspoken & assertive girl I know! I think it may have scared my ex off a bit and made him feel a little intimidated!! You're right, I do deserve an explanation and I'm shocked that he couldn't just be straight with me when we talked about everything else so easily. It did exacerbate the Insomnia at first but it's all exam-related now! Oh well, you live and learn!! x

I feel for you in missing your lover and best mate but this will pass, once you are back at uni and meeting people again. As for the insomnia, yep I know exactly how this feels: most nights I sleep 2-3 hours and some nights not at all. It's rubbish being like this and I still have to get up in the morning so like you, I can't take pills.

Just a thought - have you had any contact at all with your ex? I think you are entitled to an explanation. Don't just leave it. If you could sit up all night talking, you can surely talk about this, too. Maybe you need to become a little more assertive in your dealings with others? I am sure the insomnia is exacerbated by your frustration over this unfinished business. Sort it out tomorrow and tick it off your 'done' list. Then get back to studying. Just think, in about three months this will all be over!

Hate is a reasonably stable emotion. it is likewise very unfavorable. i think of human beings do not truly hate the "ex", as much as they hate the time they invested right into a dating that did not "pan out". they're truly indignant at themselves, yet won't be mature sufficient to realize it. It takes 2 human beings to make or wreck a dating. Neither significant different is actual harmless. that's lots much less stressful responsible the "ex" and direct your anger there, than to take an honest inspect your self & your very own shortcomings. I actual have a number of "ex's", yet do not hate any of them. What I DO hate, is that I wasn't a extra advantageous choose of character....or that i could not make extra advantageous alternatives in an significant different. I hate the years I "wasted" in unhappy marriages, yet i does not circulate lower back & replace something. i'm the sum entire of ALL my reviews....and that i admire the guy I actual have become. And to borrow the words of an previous song: "specific, i'm clever, notwithstanding if that's know-how born of discomfort....specific, I paid the fee, yet look how lots i've got gained". Hate is a maximum cancers. It purely destroys the guy who harbors it.

i get the occasional bout of it. it's a pain till you get past the third night of it by which time your imagination is running riot, seeing/hearing things, and once you accept your mind is just playing tricks on you it's quite enjoyable, a sort of free high. go with the flow
