Any sudden swelling that includes a rash is often a sure sign of an allergic reaction. I'd call her pediatrician, ask if it's ok to give her Benedryl, and then ask if he thinks a trip to the ER is necessary. Any new medications lately? If so, stop them immediately until further evaluation!!!!

Call you doctor - your daughter has had an allergic reaction.
We just found out that my son was allergic to cats - he had been around cats a few times, however after visiting his aunts for about an hour, he had red marks on his face and his eye was swelling and watering. I immediately put him in the shower and changed his clothes. I contacted his doctor and was told to give him Benadryl and watch for any swelling with his tongue or trouble breathing. The doctor said it was great to get him in the shower. I was saved a trip to the ER - the Benadryl and shower worked.
We are now considering allergy tests to try to prevent future allergy problems.

Go! Don't wait! It's better to have something checked & find out that you just need medication or that it was nothing major, than to wait & it gets worse with really negative results.
