I should have known this Question would be taken as a joke. most people dont look up anymore.but then they dont look down, or to the right, or to the left anymore eather. most people just walk looking stright ahead like good little robots! I have been to other places and seen these same trails. We just came back from Florida a few weeks ago and they were in the sky over Florida,North Carolina and Georiga. So I guess people should start to see whats happening around them ( and above them )

Contrails show up when the air is particularly dry and cold at flying altitude. Part of the combustion process produces superheated water vapor that will almost instantly condense when pressure is released and vapor hits the cold air. This is why you see contrails on airplanes flying up high where it is colder and also more during the cold and relatively dry winter months.

This Wikipedia article will tell you everything you need to know about contrails. And they have been around a lot longer than the idiot who came up with the idea that government was spraying something into the air.

Those contrails stay up there because there are no winds going on at that altitude.

Either that, or the aliens are after you.
