Won't work because when people (some not all) follow a religion they also become very judgemental and see the world with tunnel vision.
Christians are a prime example.

What is the fun in that?
Some day people will realize that there is no such a thing as a perfect and a non violent religion.
If you were brought up Jewish you will defend that religion, Catholics and Buddhists will do the same.
One day people will realize religion is here for one reason. The reason is to believe in God.
Not being Catholic, Buddhist, Methodist, Jewish <--- These things are like cars you drive what you like.
What matters is that you are not a dick to people around you.
Just because you go to church and your sins are forgiven on Sunday does not give you the right to be a dick again on Monday.
If there is a god he will see all the people and the stupid stuff we all have done. No matter what religion you are you will have your time.
Violence is not an answer to a lot of stuff but if 1000 people need to die to save 1,000,000. I think the choice will be 1000 people sacrificed to save the other 1,000,000.
Simple logic.
(Not so simple when you get to chose who dies and lives)

It's not in the nature of man to be at peace with one another, until he is at peace with God. Not until he joins a religion, but until he knows that there is a God. Knowing his relationship to God is the next step then. If there is a God then we don't belong in his presence. And if there is a holy God then we belong in hell. That is where every one of us stands who doesn't know forgiveness through the cross. Until we come to peace with God at the cross we cannot know peace with our fellow man.
edit:
If there were no religions then there would be no religious people to hate. There would still be people, and people would still hate.

Actually, you will get your wish. Scripture says that before Christ returns, another will come. The mass majority will believe that it is Christ, but if they read the Bible with understanding, they would know that Antichrist comes first. There is no gathering away in a cloud before this event. However, since so many believe that before the end, Christ will first come to rapture them away - well, its easy to see that they will believe that antichrist is in fact the real Jesus Christ. Unfortunate, but true.
Anyway - to your question
The antichrist will come in prosperly and peacefully. Remember, he's coming disguised as Jesus, pretending to be Jesus. So, he's gonna be full of love. No more homeless, just peace on earth and tolerance and only political correctness. A chicken in every pot, peace peace peace. Obviously, if he came back acting like satan nobody would be fooled right? Nope, you won't see a bit of evil - just this loving peaceful religion you are looking for. Yep, the doctrine of the antichrist will be just right for you.

Religion has no place in peace. History has shown this hundreds of times, people need to move on.

I think that no matter who you are, whether you are religious or not, there is a deep animal urge that lusts for the blood of others and for violence. Peace is unattainable, and most religions are violent or are taken to be violent.

Imagine the most peaceful society possible. NO one ever uses violence. No one is willing to fight. Now you have a small group who will use violence against any one who even looks at them wrong. Who do you think takes over?

Because that is not the plan that our Heavenly Father has set in motion.
We have a God. We have a Saviour. We cannot deny this or we die.
The best thing I can suggest to you is to straight to the Word of God (KJV Bible) and ask God to help you understand it. Then you will have the truth.><>

All religions teach peace....some people just don't understand it.
"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness." Dalai Lama
