Two tremendous power punchers in this matchup! Liston had a better jab, a longer reach so Shavers would be made to pay as he tried to make his way inside. There would be some bombs landed by both men in this one and I'm sure that Shavers would shake Sonny a couple of times but in the end behind that big jab of Sonny's he lands a left hook and knocks Shavers out in round 7 of a good fight. Good question.

Liston by KO round 9. The difference in this fight would be Liston's telephone pole jab, which keeps Shaver's at Liston's punching distance. Shavers would get his shots in though. Excellent match up Lovely Lady. I just read the other answers after posting my question and toughguy hit the nail on the head!

Liston would be too tough for Shavers. There would be 7 action packed rounds but Liston would KO Shavers in the 8th.

In this bout we have a super rarity. Both fighters deliver left hooks at the same time. Double KO's
