My boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year and were friends for over a year before that. So we've been very comfortable with each other for a long time now.

In the beginning, he used to compliment me a lot and say stuff like he misses me when I'm gone. He'd also leave random cute messages. Now, he's like "I only miss you a little bit" in a sarcastic way and he doesn't compliment me a lot as he used to.

He jokes around a lot. I know this. He jokes around saying, "Well I warned you that you would get tired of me." Yeah, that gets annoying too.

I guess what I'm saying is that I guess that "spark" is fading and after 2 years of knowing him, the comfort of being together has taken over... and we can joke around more. Well, I don't joke around... he does.

We are practically engaged... plan on getting married someday after college. ♥

I guess I just miss the overwhelming lovey-dovey feeling of having a new boyfriend or what-not. Does anybody else feel the same?

what people dont realize is that you go thru the honeymoon phase and then your not so lovey dovey anymore that fades away and you grow respect and love, understanding, comfort and things like that. If you always want just that spark you going to be jumping from relationship to relationship your whole life.

think bout it!

Hmm...one, he could be feeling insecure. Two, maybe you girls didn't know but men CAN feel insecure too, maybe there's something else? Or rather it's a reverse psychology, saying he miss you only a lil bit but he actually miss you a lot. Just being a bit mean.

Well having a heart-to-heart talk could work. All da best to u! =)

Why do women need constant ego and emotional stroking? It's so foreign to us guys. Yeah, we do it in the beginning of the relationship, but even then it's not normal and natural for us. It's a strain. As soon as the guy feels established he doesn't feel the need to constantly be "romantic" and lovey dovey. It's not that we don't love you, we just don't feel comfortable showing it every minute of our existence.

Every relationship has this problem.. at first everything is new & wonderful..& every word ur partner says is poetry..

as time goes by u start knowing eatch other better & get used to eatch other.. bored takes over...

only solution is both should find newer things in eatch other.. try doing different things...for example....go in new & different places for dates...

I would recomend staying apart will help...that would make things worse...

Good luck

you've just gotten out of the honeymoon stage of your relationship. this is when the hard work and communication and listening skills get really important.

you guys will have to work on the spark. before you get married. ask yourself what bad traits of his can you accept and what bad traits can you not accept. if the not being able to accept something out weighs what you can accept, then you might want to really think about your getting engaged.
