If you can jump rope for two hours a day, more power to you. That's really hard.

It depends on what you mean by "in shape." Getting a half-hour of cardio is good for maintenance, an hour will improve your health, and 1.5 hours is good for weight loss, but you need to do it 4-5 days a week. If you want to build muscle, you'll need to do weight lifting, or at least lift your body weight, which means doing pushups, squats and crunches. Those will make you look more toned. But if you just want to lose weight, jumping rope is good. Don't twist your ankle!

I checked a website (sorry can't remember which one)
which calculated that for a 150 pound person, 2 hours of jumping rope will burn around 1,400 calories. Considering that it takes about 3,500 calories burned to lose a pound, you will lose weight quickly and improve your cardiovascular fitness a lot. But ease into it - don't start doing two hours right away. Build up your endurance gradually.
