To explain my allergies better... I almost always have a stuffy nose at home and when I walk into school and my eyes water as I walk through hallways. I also have outdoor allergies like grass and ragweed. I'm just getting tired of taking Claritin D on some days. I was looking at this one http://www.blueairstore.com/blueair-201-R.shtml Can someone recommend something under $250 that have cheaper replacement filters?

I also wanted to mention I'm mainly looking for a air purifier to sleep better. Since I cant breath though my nose you can imagine how bad I sleep. DONT recommend the ionic breeze. According to consumer reports and this website http://www.airpurifiers.com/reviews.htm it doesn't work!

Sleeping better. There are many air purifiers with hepa filters that are under $250, but how helpful they'll be is minimal.

Throughout the day you're subjected to your allergens. At night is when your body takes charge and fights these allergens as diseases. The allergens from your day are still going to be in your body (eyes, nose, and throat) and an air purifier isn't going to help that.

You may want to try taking benadryl before you go to bed and see if that helps.

Also airborne grass allergies can often be complicated by eating grass foods. You may want to try a week of not eating wheat, rye, barley, corn, or oats and see if that helps. If these foods are causing problems its going to take at least 3 days of avoidance for you to notice improvement, so don't get discouraged. By day 5 of strict avoidance, the foods should be out of your system and you should see improvement if they're an issue.

You may also want to try to change your house/apt air filter often at least once a month. And making your bedroom minimalist and spotlessly clean will also help keep the dusts (with grass & ragweed pollens in it) at bay giving you a more safe place to sleep.

Also do not sleep in your daytime clothes. Keep your daytime clothes away from your bed as much as possible. The last thing you need is to get grass & ragweed pollens from your clothes into your bed where you'll sleep with them for the next 8 hours.

I imagine you do get tired of taking medicine all the time! And if the air purifier can take the allergens out of the air, it will be a great help to you! Though you should still keep the meds for when you go out.

Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with brands of air purifiers, though I have seen Ionic Breeze advertised.

Keep in mind that sometimes the cheaper item is not always a bargain: It might actually be faulty and so not only not solve the problem, it could create more. That is from experience.

Good luck!

There are a few uncommon benefits to air purifiers. Make definite that you simply get a well one although. The difficulty so much individuals uncover with less expensive units is that the would not have well filters. The entire concept of the air cleanser is to take the pollens, mildew, mould and different unsafe retailers out of the air we breathe.
