I don't think that's in the Bible. If you are saved by Christ, you are saved. Even so, we can go through difficult times, but God's love is greater than our mistakes. He'll still accept us.

I think that the interpretation that you're damned if you kill yourself comes from men that are too prideful to admit that their salvation doesn't come from their own ability to "be good." They want to believe that at some level, they're responsible for their salvation, so if they don't toe the line (and kill themselves), they can lose their salvation. It's sad.

Nothing can take you out of God's hand. Nothing.

I think the Bible is often like the U.S. Constitution in the way that many of its teachings are implied rather than expressly stated.

And just like U.S. Supreme Court Justices have over the history of the U.S. interpreted the many implications of the Constitution through the expressly stated rights and laws, so too have myriad religious, historical and linguistic scholars interpreted the nearly infinite teachings and laws of the Bible.

The Bible doesn't directly say that suicide is automatic damnation or that any action is automatic damnation for that matter (with the exception of the sin against the Holy Spirit), but it does show through the story of Judas and other unfortunate souls that we should never commit suicide, no matter how offensive our sins, because Jesus would always rather forgive us than damn us to Hell.

You are the Temple of God,He that destroys the Temple God said he would destroy.Scripture says that we must repent from sin.Killing is a sin.If your dead you can`t repent and ask forgiveness. Now I know what your thinking war people kill.Yes that is true but they are fighting for a cause, for the protection of others. The Bible also says that no greater love has any man then to lay down his life for another. That isn`t willfully taking ones life. This seems hard but that is what the Bible states.I know in some religions that a priest prays for a soul after they die or gives last rights.I don`t think that you can,but that is what I believe. There is circumstances like If someone is so despondent that their not in control of their mental faculties then they are sick and not responsible.

It doesn't say blanketly, which is why this is a gray area for Bible scholars. There are assumptions that can be made based on Scriptural examples, but there is no real way of knowing God's once and for all final stance on the matter of suicide.

For some reason, God did not choose to reveal a cut and dry answer for us.

So I suppose it is safe to say that avoiding suicide all together is a person's best bet so long as they are still trying to make it to heaven, that is.

I do not believe it does say that

people who believe this, do so because murder is a sin, and they consider it self murder with no chance of repentance

I agree that suicide is outside the will of God and should be avoided... but I think if a person is saved... one might be seriously depressed or so.. and they might still be saved... it isn't clear at all to me that the bible supports all people comitting suicide not being saved.... however I do think its outside the will of God and to be avoided and the people will have to answer to God for throwing opportunities away by doing it

No where in the Bible is suicide condemned. I think there are 7 suicides listed in the Bible.

Samson prayed for and received the strength to kill his tormentors and to commit suicide.

Judas repented and committed suicide.

It doesn't say that at all. That is just something people assume because it is murder of self and cannot be repented of. But people who are quick to say suicides go to hell have never tried suicide.

They also have very bad manners when dealing with people that suffer from depression. Christians are not immune to depression or suicidal feelings. I would never tell people that suicide leads to hell, we do not know what these people are dealing with inside their emotions.

Christians call themselves compassionate and loving, this is not compassion or love.

I don't know about the Bible but the Vedas say that one will become a ghost for a very long time. It is a terrible situation. The person suffers incessantly their misery they experienced at the moment of death. They are bothered by other miserable ghosts and practically no one can see or hear them so they are so miserable. go to harekrishnatemple.c for understanding of karma, Reincarnation, and how to get out of the cycle of repeated birth, death, old age, and disease and return to the blissful spiritual abode.

It doesn't say that specifically. It simply says that a person who committs suicide will "be without God forever". If damnation isn't a life without God, I don't know what is. I guess it's open to interpretation.

How would you be able to ask forgiveness of the sin of murdering yourself? Once we leave this world and have that perfect 20/20 hindsight vision the Bible tells us EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. But for those who died in sin it will be too late. Sin is not allowed into Heaven. Killing oneself is a sin = automatic damnation.
