ACTUALLY-
the proper term is "Aeronautical Beverage Transport Technichian" Thank you. Been doing it 7 years
Just kidding- we are now called Flight Attendants. I had to undergo a very intensive 6 week training program and then made just BARELY enough to get by when I first started. But if you hang in there you can make a base of upwards of $70,000. But that is after 12 years of being on 24 hour on call, being cramped in a 2bdrm apartment with 8 other people. But you figure out what bases to transfer to that give you a better way of life and the rewards FAR outweigh the negative. There are lots of great websites. Google "Flight Attendant School Story- What It Is Like To Be A Flight Attendant"- great observations but don't neccessarily go sign up for the program. All airlines will make you go through their training program regardless of past experience. But a program like that can help if you lack other experience.
Airlines look for people with people skills- like restaurants, teaching, policeman and nurses. I was a bartender/server for almost 7 years before I got hired. And smile! Smile! Smile!

ahem, the correct term is air hostesses.
the money is aight but depends on the airline u fly fo. airlines that don't limit the number of hours u can fly (although dem white folks at the FAA sez u can't go over 150 hours a month) u tend to make more money with overtime.
i make about 45k a year before taxes and still get about 10-11 days off a month. been flying for almost 3 years.
qualifications and training you just gotta look fly at the interview and smile like a trained monkey the entire time you interviewing and you be aight.

They're usually paid by the trip and the accumulated milage. It kind of averages out to about 12 to 18 dollars an hour.
