I recently bought a new laptop and I can upgrade to vista basic home free. I know that they say that it's more secure but I can't seem to find out that much more like what software is included with it

Don't bother if all you get is the basic edition. Pay the extra money to get a fuller Media Edition of it. Go to the MS website and look at the 4 types of Vista coming out. The Basic is a waste of time over XP.
