I expect that you mean cryonics, rather than cryogenics because cryogenics is low-temperature physics (a common mistake). It is not possible with current technology to cryopreserve a human or other mammal at very low sub-zero temperatures and revive them. Cryonics is based on the idea that people cryopreserved today may be revived in the future with technologies that will be created in the future. So the goal of cryonics today is to use the best preservation technogies (anti-freeze solutions to prevent ice formation) to preserve the brain in the best possible condition so that future science has the best chance of working. Future technology may also be able to cure all diseases and rejuvenate old people to make them young again. If you believe in the possibiliites of future science, then cryonics may be a viable option. It could take many decades or more for the necessary science, however.

I don't know where you ge tthe idea that the soul would have to leave. maybe because in every attempt, the person has died...

we're moving farther and farther from the belief that cryonics will work because we've never successfully done it. i.e. freeze somebody and brought them back.
