Iran gained't attack the U. S. with nuclear guns. they do no longer have a universal shipping gadget to finish that, and they could threat vast retaliation. They okay may enable a surrogate to apply one in a non-classic way, regardless of the reality that. And convinced, in the course of the Iran-Iraq conflict, they were tremendously indiscriminate about capturing at in basic terms about somewhat all and diverse, and mined the Strait of Hormuz. Reagan allowed a mess of ships from different international locations to be flagged briefly as American and used the fifth Fleet somewhat aggressively to squelch that concept. And earlier we stray too some distance from the idea of surrogates in a international ruled by technique of uneven conflict, enable's no longer forget the relationship between Iran and Hezbollah, which at cases has been a lot nearer than the relationship between the U. S. and Israel that drives most of to distraction.

Nope. The US military is stretched out too thin for anything. Also, there's still no proof that the Iranian president is looking for nukes. So he has a serious hate for Israel and said that he wants to destroy that country. So does a dozen other countries in the region, so is Bush going to invade the entire Middle East? He has a nuclear power plant that generates electricity for the poor people of that nation. That's hardly a threat.
Also, Israel has shown this past summer that they can defend themselves when provoked enough. Why that haven't done that earlier is beyond me.

I give it a 35% chance that the US will attack Iran. For his faults, not even Bush can pretend that Iraq wasn't a historic misstep. I want to believe he's learned some humility, and is disinclined to make the same mistake twice.

Intel says before april 07, the Stennis is on it's way as we speak. That will give the US two carrier battle groups in the region.

Unfortunately, I think it will be before the summer. Bush is setting up the military in that area for this now. My husband went to Iraq before the Iraq war. He was in Kuait planning for a huge war/occupation WHILE Bush was saying "I don't want to go to war, of course we will exaust all measures of diplomacy." I sadly, voted for that liar, but after I heard that I couldn't trust anything else he said. I digress...

We will only attack Iran if they attack us or Israel first. Democrats will never take a stand.
