Sorry to say it, but a tattoo on your hip bone WILL hurt.Generally the more flesh there is, there less it'll hurt and directly onto your hip will not be pleasant. From your other question I gather that it'll be script, so the pain shouldn't last long at all - maybe 5 - 10 minutes and then it'll be over. Good luck!

A tattoo is like have sex for the first time, yeah it hurts at first but then it feels so good that when it's done you want to do it again!
Yes, you need to clean it but it doesn't take long to clean it and you don't have to buy a bunch of things that you wouldn't already have on hand anyway! I got my first when i was 21 and i've since acquired 15 in the past 13 years! they are addictive!

The pain from a tattoo all depends on what u can handle and where u get it! I have 3 one on each arm and one on stomach. the arms were painless. The one on my stomach didnt feel so great(mostly gave me the poops next day...lol) they are well worth it even if it is painful. The most important thing is to be sure its what u really want to do because unless u want to pay big$ it is "forever" there. And DO NOT use neosporin it will draw out the ink ask the artist what they suggest!! I would suggest Tattoo Goo

let me start by saying I have 24 tatts now.The level of pain depends on where you get it done. For example: the ones on my ears hurt pretty bad, the ones on my neck were a little less painful, and the sleeve on my lower right arm was a piece of cake. Make sure you think over what you want, no spur of the moment decisions, because it cost tons more to remove. Any good tattoo artist should tell you how to clean and care for your new tatt. Usually you get a "bandage" or saranwrap type cover on it when your done, keep that on till you get home. Wash gently (not with a wash cloth, but your bare hands), Blot dry with a clean papertowel, wash and apply A&D ointment to it three times a day for three to four days. As long as you take care of it properly, it should not scab up really bad, or flake badly either. Use a non perfumed lotion for dryness, and always wear sunblock. Good luck!

The first tattoo I got was on my wrist, which I thought would hurt, it being near veins and everything, but it didn't really at all. The second one I got is on my shoulder blade, that didn't hurt either.
There were a few times that I got little jolts of pain while it was being done, but nothing I couldn't stand.
It depends on the person's pain tolerance. If yours is high, then you should be fine. If it's not, then it's probably going to hurt, but it's worth it, and I'm sure it's nothing you can't get through.
I'd just make sure that you're going to be able to handle it 100% before you go to get it done. You don't want them to be halfway through and you decide you can't take it, so you've got half a tattoo on you.
When I got mine done, they said to keep it covered for the first day or so, and then rub neosporin on it a few times a day until it stops scabbing.
Hope this helped a little. :]

Yes, it hurts. Get a friend to poke you with a mechanical pencil a few times, really quick, all in the same place, ideally where you want your tattoo. (My ex was a tattoo artist, he did this to me.) If you can take it, you can take a tattoo.
Cry if you want, hold the chair if you want, hold a friend's hand if you want! Just don't move, that's the important thing.
Yes, you have to clean it, lightly, with alcohol, and keep it covered otherwise. Forget going to the pool for a few weeks. It will scab over. The scabs need to fall off on their own. Don't bother it. Cover it with a bandage.

Of course it's gonna hurt but if you really want it then it will be worth it in the long run...and yes you have to clean it 2-3 times a day with an antibacterial soap they recommend dial. It'll peel and scab and itch but do not and I mean DO NOT pick or scratch it or you'll ruin it.It's not as bad as you think it also depends on the part of your body you want to put it on,some areas more sensitive than others.Good Luck!!!

it hurts alot a first, like the outline but after awhile endorphins kick in and it's not too bad more just irritating. It kind of feels like someone is scratching your sunburn over and over again in the same place, and it does depend where you get it. My is on my back near my left shoulder. Whenever she hit the bone or the shoulder blade it would hurt. But for me honestly the worst part was the healing, when it began to itch and you can't scratch it OMG it drove me crazy But once you see the finished product it is so worth it. Im already planning my next 3.

Well, let's be honest about this, yes, sometimes getting a tattoo hurts, but it also feels SO GOOD all at the same time. I tried explaining it to my husband like this... It's like a natural high, almost like an orgasm, but cleaner and you can show it to people later. Okay, that wasn't supposed to sound goofy, but seriously, a tat is great. Once you get one it's like an addiction, at least for me it was. I love my tats and am waiting to get my next one any day now.
One piece of advice--- only get a tat once you KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT piece of artwork for your body. Sure, a tat can be removed, but how ridiculous! Just make sure you get what you want while you're getting. Don't make a hasty decision and for God's sake DO NOT PUT A LOVER'S NAME ON YOUR BODY!
That's good advice there bud. My sister just spent $250 removing her soon to be ex-husband's name from her body. Now she has a huge dragon between her "ta-ta's."

I tell people to pinch themselves in the area the tattoo will go. That's a pretty good determination of the level of sensitivity in the area. I like to describe the pain as a straight razor being dragged over your skin. Just barely cutting you. I feel that's pretty accurate.
