Yes. There are many countries which consume the dolphin/porpoise on a regular basis. The Japanese are the largest of the fishing countries which specifically go after dolphin and porpoise, refusing to go along with the restrictions and fishing bans other nations support. They consume much or the dolphin harvest in Japan but also have many off shore customers (like the US of A.)

I am assuming you are referring to the mammal related to the porpoise. I don't believe any country goes that route. However, there is also a dolphin FISH also known as mahi mahi and it is consumed right here in the USA as well as around the world.

The answer is yes, the Japanese eat them on a regular basis. In fact I believe they eat anything that lives and breathes.
