They sleep around 16-18 hours a day. Now this is what I've been told but my cat is actually awake almost all the time I am.

Well, a lion gets an avg of 18 hrs a day I think, but I don't know about a pet. From watching my 2 cats I'd say it has to be close to that lol.

My cat sleeps with me at night, I go to bed around 11:00pm. He gets up with me at 7:00am. Back to bed with my hubby when he gets home from work around 9am. They get up around 2:30 or 3:00. We have dinner and he lays down for a nap with the cat for about 2 hours before he goes to work at 10:00. Then, back to bed with me.
He gets mad on the weekends when the schedule changes slightly.
So, I'd say they get around 30 hrs of sleep a day...

ats sleep a good average of 23 hours a day. This is information from vets and other "knowledagable" persons, also I am a cat lover and have had cats allmy life, and yes, they do sleep 23 hours a day. mine is asleep on my feet right now!

Some are awake for as long as it takes for them to eat. I would say they sleep for 20 hours a day.
