I have quite curly hair and it's about medium length. I'm tired of how unruly and untamed curly hair is, and I'm thinking about cutting and straightening my hair, but I don't know exactly what style to cut it.

If you plan to have it straitened, cut it in layers...that seems very in now. If you want bangs, I can recommened it only if you have a longer forehead, however, if you have an ovuler head like mine, bangs are totally out. Good luck...

1. don't go shoulder length for the cut. go either a few inches below or a few inches above your shoulders.
2. Invest in a good straightener.
I believe there is one with little pins that comb throught the hair as you straighten it so it doesn't get matted and makes it easy to tame those curls. It doesn't have to cost a fortune, just look around before you buy.
3. try using a pomeade on your hair wet or dry. I know Got To Be sells one. I apply it to my hair when its wet so if i let my hair dry naturaly i doesn't frizz up and curl like crazy.

hope i helped

If your planning on straightening it, then I would recommend long layers, especially if you're hair is untamed. I angled mines a little on one side too, but my hair is just wavy and I'm not sure how that would work out on curly hair.

Why dont you just try a shorter hair cut and leave the curl? It wouldnt be so bad if it was short. Also you can relax the curl which will make it less curly but also not straight. ;-)

My hair is similar to yours and I recently got it cut into long, choppy layers starting at about my chin and going down to the ends. It's about shoulder-length and I lovelovelove it! It's easy to scrunch and leave curly, but also looks good straight.

keep the curls! i have them to- and i hate them. but it's soo worth keeping them. ask your hair dresser to thinn your hair and maybe layer it a bit. what ever you do i'm sure it'll look great.
good luck!
