This may sound sick but I caught my 16 year old brother masturbating to a picture of Maria Sharapova in the nude in our basement recreation room. I found it repulsive he left the door opened and had tons of her pictures out with baby oil, hand lotion and other lube. I am offended by this and he is begging me not to tell mom and dad. I am 26 and I really dont want to talk about this with him. I thought he watched ladies tennis cause he liked the sport but now it seems as if its just to stare at Marias butt or legs. Eww. Do I tell mom and dad?

lol it could be worse - he could be picking up things on the streets for quickies - buy him a poster of her, and put it in his room. suggest he practice there or you'll spill the beans on him at the next family thanksgiving supper.

Telling your parents would just embarass him. He's 16 and he likes an attractive woman so much that he gets a little fired up, sexually speaking. A lot of kids are having sex at that age ... at least he's not at any risk for STD or impregnating someone. Sure, it's not a pleasant thing to walk in on, but keep in mind that you were 16 once, and not all that long ago. I'm sure your hormones were kicking in too. You might not have eased the tension by masturbating, but for a teenage boy ... not to go on and on about it, but it would be less normal if he wasn't doing it.

Your 26 and he’s 16. The only difference between you and him is you never got caught masturbating by him or someone else.

He’s 16. It feels good and there is nothing wrong with it, except the fact that you walked in on him. Chance are you masturbate like everyone else. If you say no, I’ve never touched myself, then your lying, or your just denying it.

What good would it do to telling your parents? Aside from embarrassing him, nothing. And, don’t hold it over his head and never mention it again. The brother you torment now may be the one who rescues you at a later date in life.

One more thing, assuming your the only other person that knows this secret, DO NOT tell anyone else. If you do tell a friend (or partents), and they blab or joke about it, you should be aware of a future payback – and payback can be a *****. One day you may find a secret video online of yourself masterbating. No one is immune to revenge.

No you don't tell mom or dad. Good grief you are an adult, act like one! Tell your brother if he wants to get off then to take it into his bedroom with a closed door like everyone else on the planet.

You know, you took a lot of interest in what sort of lube he had out. Stood there and took a good look did you? I walked in on my cousin masturbating, and I IMMEDIATELY averted my eyes. Muttered an apology and left the room.

Grow up now Your 26 years old for goodness sake. Men masturbate. Its just a fact. He has raging hormone syndrome right now and since your ten years older be the bigger person. Don't shame him for a natural act. Stress to him this is an activity to be conducted behind closed and locked doors and leave parents out of it. He is already horrified. Would you rather he suppressed this indefinitely and then took it out on some innocent girl in the form of rape? Think about that one a while.

No, just tell him that he needs to do that in the privacy of his own room or in the bathroom, door locked. Masterbation is healthy, but best kept private. No need to tell your parents; it's uncomfortable to talk about but harmless (even beneficial to health) to do.

For what it's worth, I don't really know why you mention your age. Are you saying you're too young or too old to deal with this? I am 27 and I gave my little brother and sister "the talk" (separately) when I was about 21. Granted, I never walked in on my brother masterbating and I'm sure I would be really upset if I did.

Well, no offense, but you sound like a little of a prude. Your brother is doing what 16 year old boys do. Haven't you ever masturbated before or what? Why would you tell your mom and dad? Like they don't know already? You seem so shocked that your brother is "normal." Have you ever heard the saying, "he who protests loudest...."

I can only see more harm than good if you tell. Telling will change the way your parents see your brother and he'll probably never trust you again. It's not like he was doing drugs--we're all sexual beings and have masturbated at one point or another. Just talk to him if you feel what you saw was uncomfortable and maybe try to stir away from accusatory language and just tell him to LOCK THE DOOR.

You have to remember his age. At sixteen, his hormones are in a rage. Teenage boys do that. Thank God I never caught my brother doing something like that but, you do have to remember that he's a teenage boy. If you tell your mom, you could put a stigma on him for the rest of his life. He's already embarrassed enough because, he was caught by his big sister. Keep it to yourself. Teenagers do stupid things and he probably wasn't thinking about the door, he probably wasn't thinking at all.

Just exactly what do you accomplish by telling mom and dad? If you don't want to talk to him about it, then don't. Just let him know that if he wants to flog the dolphin, he should be a little more discreet and maybe lock a door. What you you expect/hope he would do if he caught you polishing the pearl?

He is 16 and it's better to catch him doing him instead of someone else. I would find out how much he knows about safe sex. Mom and Dad could shock his sex life depending on what they say. And besides what can they say, he's growing older and hormones are developing. Let him be healthy so that you can have healthy nieces and nephews.
