Brian, anyone that has had a stroke is in danger of dementia. A stroke is like an attack on the brain. Every time you have one of these attacks, it weakens the brain and when the brain becomes weaker, it is harder to remember things and to do the things that you have done all your life. If you know someone who has had strokes and is now acting like they don;t understand things and don;t want to take care of themselves, I think is in danger of this loathsome diease!! Dementia robs a person of their most priced pocessions, their memories!! Encourage looking at photo albums and working crossword puzzles, anything that make the mind work harder is good. Sitting in front of a tv all dah and all night is not good for a person with dmetia. MY grandson has been diagnoised with Aspergers sydrome and autism. His mother has been diagnoised with biploar disorder. She is on medication but with all the brain drugs out there,

Yes. The residuals a person has after a stroke depends entirely on what areas of the brain are affected.
