I like this guy, and I feel like I have been dropping hints, but he doesn't seem to be picking up on them. He is shy, and I think intimidated because I am a year and a half older than him. So, should I just come right out and ask him out on a date? I have an opportunity on Saturday to do it in person because that is the next time I see him. But, do guys like it when girls ask them out?

Tell him flat out that you like him then if he doesn't after a week or two ask him out. Guys aren't that great at picking up on hints.

see baby i don't know who gave you the impression that its only guys that she ask a girl out thas not true anybody can do that its not a crime but a guy might see that as a trip but i tell you the truth i prever girls asking me out than me asking me out so GOOD LUCK

guys like it when a girl knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. besides, it's refreshing to not be the one who has to take the chance.
