I have been very sick for about 1 1/2 weeks with the flt. Now I have developed a bump on the right side of the roof of my mouth. I have had canker sores before. However, they have always been on my gums. What is this bump?

I agree 100% with the 2nd answer. It is called a torus. Your palate is actually 2 bones that grew together and joined in the center. For some people when the bones grow together, a bump is created. This is a torus. I like to compare tori to freckles. Some people have them... some people don't. But, you don't look at someone with freckles and say, "AH! Go to the doctor...you have marks all over your face!" It's perfectly normal. But, not everybody has them!

Could be canker, could be allergic reaction. Sometimes they're just a a sort of crude blister.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it started hurting, got worse, or won't go away after a few days.

Sometimes a vein can swell up and make it feel wierd to swallow, as if there is a bump. It should disappear soon. Don't worry.
