My kitten is 2 months old and i have had her for 7 days. She was a very calm kitty, always sleeping, sometimes affectionate, and never became hyper. Yesturday 2 ten year old children played with her and possibly chased her around. Since yesturday she has turned wild. She would jump on furniture and basically attack everything in sight. She even began scratching me and biting me when i tried to pet her. Now she will not go to sleep at all during the day time and is always hyper. Then at night time she would just collapse somewhere and sleep. She was the not the same kitten I first adopted (she has been spayed). I am very worried about her, is it the 2 children's fault she is so on the defensive? Any feedback will be apreciated.

I have a 2 month old kitten myself. He has been sick but is now recovering but even so, He jumps off the walls. Climbs up the back of my legs, and chases all of our feet. I think it is very normal how your kitty is acting. It was inside her all the time, the Kids just brought it out. The kids may have help make it more aggressive. Children sometimes don't know how to handle and can be a little to rough with such a young kitten. I think your kitten will grow out of once things settle down and shes back in a routine. Good Luck

LOL your kitten sounds normal. My kitten was 3 months old and I didn't know he could even sleep. He was crazy for at least a week. Possibly your kitten wasn't sure how to act and the children just made her remember that she's a kitten. Don't worry, I am sure the kitten will grow out of it. Mine is 6 months now and he's been pretty calm for quite some time now. If your kitten doens't settle down, she might need a playmate. But I am sure you don't have to worry.

I hope tht they did not hurt your cat. I never heard of a cat being spayed at 2 months old, way too young. They have to be at least 5 and a half months old! I would keep it quiet for a long time in the house and let nobody play with her especially kids. Your cat may have suffered a bit of trauma because of this. If she appears sore in a piticular spot, you can tell if she crys if you touch that spot and kitty bites you, give her time to calm down. From having cats as part of our household all my life, I will say that night time is kitty cat time, they like to tear the house down at night. However, it will grow out of this in years. Good Luck.

Yes... I think the kids freaked the kitten. Just try to keep her in a quiet secure room for the next few days until she calms down. Children have to be taught how to appraoch a kitty becuase cats do not like the boisterous, noisy, and chaotic play of children and their erratic movements - freaks cats out unless they become accustomed to it.

it is the kid's fault that your kitten turned hyper, and she might go back to normal after a few days or so. the next time that the kids come over tell them not to piss off your cat or they can pay the price.
one of the cats i have i actually worn people about when they come over for the fact that she can be very ill tempered at times. one person didn't heed the wornning and now my cat actually goes out of her (the cats) own way to attack my friend.

Yes, basically kittens are very playful and just like little children they can be like playdough you model the way you want her/him to be. If what you want is a lap kitty, simply place him'her on your lap while swinging a piece of string or yarn to keep it entertained. They also get bored, you know? Mine's having a bit of a hard time, but she's learning and more importantly she's begun to appreciate the warmth of my lap + company. Make sure you talk to him/her softly and make nice eye contact: she/he will respond.

No, it's not the fault of the kids. Kittens change behaviour like every two seconds! It is just their nature. However, at her age you have to get down to training her seriously, to eliminate behaviours you don't want her to keep.

The kneading is definitely generic. very almost all cats knead because of the fact that's comforting to them -- it takes them lower back to formative years while doing that meant they have been subsequent to their siblings and getting milk from mom. some cats knead extra suitable than others. some suck blankets; some do not. yet agree a hundred% with "cat lover" get the boy neutered. 4-5 months is while boy cats hit sexual adulthood. What you could desire to renowned approximately that's--even putting aside average aggressiveness--he will initiate peeing up your place. he will initiate "spraying" that foul smelling pee -- you recognize the type in case you circulate to somebody's homestead and you're like damn, those human beings have cats? -- like that. And as quickly as a male cats starts doing that....in case you wait and then get him neutered it won't count number because of the fact he will have found out to do it and that's a lifelong project. So get to the vet!!!! (btw....the 1st male cat I had neutered my boyfriend and that i felt undesirable approximately doing it, yet they're lots happier, have confidence me!)

she will calm down after a couple of days with you. small children sometimes drive kittys crazy...our grandchildren visit sometimes and the younges ones drive our poor cat up the walls because she is not accustomed to very young children.
