Here is a thought read a Bible there are many, you misquote.
both these are about Daniel. he was thrown in the lions den and the angels protected Him.The lions did not touch him. Daniel was the greatest of dream interpreter and only Daniel could read the handwriting on the wall,it was written by God.

I'm thinking that "escaping by the skin of one's teeth" comes from Job. I read it in the Bible just today, but I was skimming through different areas, so it might not have been Job.

pearly gates (from the gates of the city of Jerusalem, which, in the book of Revelation, speaks of being made each of one gigantic pearl)
